Try it on Tuesday - Christmas Sparkle

 Good Morning all! Today at  Try it on Tuesday  we have our very last challenge up for the year...

"Christmas Sparkle"

For today, I made 3 tags... one for each of my boys and one for my son's girlfriend! The boys always look forward to my tags on their presents so this year is no exception.

I used a white tag, and watercolor to add some greens for the background. I then used a snowflake stamp and some dots of versamark and heat set these using copper embossing powder. I added my little people, some washi tape and a sentiment. Now.. just have to add them to their presents!

And here is a closeup of the sparkle!

Try it on Tuesday - Winter Wonderland

 Good Morning all! Today at Try it on Tuesday, we have a new challenge up for the next couple weeks...

Winter Wonderland

I made a card for this challenge that I am going to attach to a gift for a friend for Christmas!

I started with a gelli print background, added some snowflakes using a stencil and modeling paste, added some wooden trees and snowflakes, my little Tim dolls, some corrugated box and calendar!

Traditional Christmas Colors

I made an art journal page for this one making a green muted background with white embossed snowflakes and hand drew the Christmas balls coloring them red! I added a few stamped snowflakes here and there as well! 

A fun little spread for the start of the holiday season!

I made a set of ATC's for a friends wedding anniversary! I embossed some vellum using white embossing powder, then did some doodling and added my little guy and girl!

Try it on Tuesday - Autumn Colors

 Good Morning everyone! Fall is definitely in the air in Southern Ontario!

I made a little tag for the challenge doing some fussy cutting of autumn colored leaves, edge stitching, a wood veneer leaf and a little girl and sentiment!

This is something that is hard for me, as I love to art journal and get messy... so I thought.. what a great way to get my little Zentangle book out and play! The repeated shapes makes this as "Neat & Tidy" as I can get! LOL!!!

Try it on Tuesday - Splash & Splatters

Good morning all! 

There is a new challenge up for the next two weeks at Try it on Tuesday!!

The challenge is "Splash and Splatters". 

For this challenge, I actually used gel medium to adhere a napkin I had laying around with splashes and splatters on it! (I know.. I cheated... but it works!!). I then stamped a heart image on the edge and heat embossed this with black embossing powder. I used a couple blue PITT pens to highlight the heart! I added my sentiment... and voila! Done!!! 

You can make any creative project for this challenge, just remember... share it with us within 2 weeks!

Try it on Tuesday - Words and Numbers

Good morning all my creative pals! Today we have a new challenge up at 

Try it on Tuesday

Words and Numbers

You can create any project you like for this challenge, as long as we can see some words and numbers! 

I chose to make an art journal spread....

I covered my page in my Dina Wakley journal using Titan Buff acrylic paint! I then used a stencil, TCW # 248S to create some background texture using Quinacridone Nickle Azo Gold acrylic paint. I then got out some older Tim Holtz rub ons, Words and Numbers, and rub these on randomly.  I took a word stamp I have had forever and stamped using archival black inl randomly. I added my skateboard girl, and sentiment, some black splatters.. and voila! Done. 

You have two weeks from today to show us your awesome creations! And do check out what the design team has come up with.. fabulous inspiration!

Try it on Tuesday - Summertime

Well... it is definitely Summer in Southern Ontario! Record heat and humidity!!! 

A great time to stay inside and play! (or lay by the pool!).

This week at Try it on Tuesday, our challenge for the next 2 weeks is Summertime!

I choose to make some summertime gift card holders. 

I used Carta Bella's Summer Market paper line for these. I never know what to do with those 3"x 4" journal cards, so I added them to the fronts of my card holders! 

And, here is the inside of the front part of the card! It opens from the back for me to write a little note on!

The others are the same! I plan on giving them to a few friends or them to buy a cool drink to refresh from this heat!

Try it on Tuesday - create a Scene

Good Morning all! We have a new challenge up at Try it on Tuesday for the next two weeks...

"Create a Scene"

For this challenge I chose to do a 6" x 6" art journal spread using mostly acrylic paints.

 It was simple to do, but still a scene! LOL!

Try it on Tuesday - Black & White with 1 Colour

Hi everyone! Hope you are all well and safe!!

This week at Try it on Tuesday is all about Black & White and use only 1 extra colour! 

This is my favourite type of challenge to do in my art journal! So.. I made a little spread for you today! I used some blue water colors for splotches of color in the background, some stamping, some bubble wrapp inked dots that I doodled around, my little girl, a quote, 

and of course.. some washi tape!

TioT - Have Fun with Stencils!

Good morning all! I do hope everyone and your families are safe! 

Today, we have a new challenge up at Try it on Tuesday … Have Fun with Stencils! 

I do love my stencils and just loved this fun challenge!

I decided to do a tag for this challenge layering my stencils and getting messy!

The first thing I did was to smoosh around some distress paints on my stencil to make a messy background! The tag was first prepared using white gesso over the whole thing. 

I then placed a stencil over this and used a baby wipe to remove the color underneath.

 I then sponged some color in random areas using a circle stencil.

Next, I used black archival ink to ink through some numbers on an alphabet stencil. I used a black marked to doodle around some of the circles, and flicked some white ink over the entire tag. 

Lastly... I added my chipboard doll, some thread, a quote and a ribbon!

Voila! Done!
