Color Hues #1 - Yellows and Greens

There is a new Color Challenge up at a new challenge blog... Color Hues - The Color Challenge .

The challenge is to use tones of yellows and greens on a project!

I chose to make an art journal page for this one in my 6" x 6" art journal.

I used Distress inks and a stamped image for this page!

Fun challenge ladies! And awesome examples by the DT!!!

Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers - #167 - O is for Ocean

Hello all my snarky peeps!
We have a new challenge up at Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers ....

"O is for Ocean"

.... not as vulgar as last challenge!!! LOL! Edna is going easy on us this time around!!!

For this card I made, I used some cool water looking patterned paper I had in my stash from forever ago! I colorized an octopus image from the internet, added a few splatters and my sentiment!
Easy Peasy!

I do hope you check out what snarkiness my Sistahs come up with for this challenge and hope you will join us this week!

((Happy Creating!

Try it on Tuesday - Splash & Splatters

Good morning all!

There is a new challenge up for the next two weeks at Try it on Tuesday!!

The challenge is "Splash and Splatters".

For this challenge, I actually used gel medium to adhere a napkin I had laying around with splashes and splatters on it! (I know.. I cheated... but it works!!). I then stamped a heart image on the edge and heat embossed this with black embossing powder. I used a couple blue PITT pens to highlight the heart! I added my sentiment... and voila! Done!!!

You can make any creative project for this challenge, just remember... share it with us within 2 weeks!

Check out what my team mates did for this challenge at Try it on Tuesday and leave them some love!!!

Happy Creating!

Art Journal Cards - Blooms

Hi everyone! It is snowing outside on this sunny May Day! Yup... Snow! So, what a great time to do a little fun art journal "Bloom" page! I started off making an art journal spread, but it turned into two art cards! That is the beauty of art journaling... no rules! LOL!!

I stamped and embossed the flowers using AB Studio stamps id253 and id254. I then  painted them with water downed Distress Inks (Evergreen Bough, Shaded lilac, Broken China, Mermaid Lagoon, and Wilted Violet). I then fussy cut them and started on my backgrounds. I used the same distress inks, a couple stencils and stamps and splatters here and there. I then stamped my images onto my art journal spread, and pasted the fussy cut ones down. I decided to make 2 cards instead of a spread... that was just what was calling to me! LOL!!

I added a quote from Tim Holtz Ideology sticker book, "Small Talk". I edge each with Black Soot distress paint, stamped a few butterflies and voila! Done!!

What a fun way to spend a snowy cold May Day!

I am submitting these to the following challenges:

International Art & Soul - Flowers and Butterflies - WON Top 3

Stamplorations - May Stencil

Thanks so much for taking a peek! And I do hope your May day is better than mine!
