More Than Words March Challenges

Happy Sunday everyone! It is a snowy cold day here in Southern Ontario,

and a good day to play!

There are a couple challenges over at

More Than Words this month, and I have done both!

For this art journal spread, I taped off around a tag, embossed the edge with clear embossing powder, inked with distress inks, added some stamping, splatters, gems,
some thread and washi tape, and a little girl and a quote.

For the next challenge:

I made an ATC with some gelli print I had, some washi, a little girl and a quote.

I also have to say, that there are no prizes as most of the More Than Words sponsors are from Europe, and they have decided to run the challenges without prizes until this current world situation has resolved. Our thoughts go out to everyone in the affected area.!  Mad respect for the gals at More Than Words with this!!!

Hope you play along!

Goodbye Time - Computer board alteration

Hello all my friends!  Today I decided to work on a mixed media piece because, frankly, it is just too darn hot to play outside!

I have a good neighbor who donates to me the boards from inside computers he fixes, and I LOVE altering these! They are so fun and messy to do! That's what I did today!

I call this one "Goodbye Time". I find as I get older, time is just flying by! I still feel a 20 year old, but my old body tells me otherwise! LOL!! (I need to start crossing stuff off my bucket list soon!!)

This is what it looked like when I started!

I covered the whole board with black gesso, added some bit and pieces and then sprayed, gessoes, sprayed some more, added waxes... and done!

Here are a couple close-ups....

I love doing these for some strange reason! Messy and fun!

I am entering this into a couple challenges as well today...

International Art & Soul - challenge #86 - Blue as the Main Color - Top 3 Winner!

More Than Words - July challenge : Goodbye and Monochromatic

I do hope you are all staying safe and having a blast creating!

Thanks for taking a peek!

My GOAL for 2019

Hi everyone! Thought I would share my goal for 2019... to inspire! To inspire myself to try new things, to inspire others to try new things, and to inspire to be the best person I can be.

Thought I would make an altered art piece to set on my desk to remind me daily of this!

I am going to submit this to More Than Words for the January challenge of Goals.
Also to Bleeding Art Challenge. for their "aAnything Goes January".

I used a computer board, added embellishments, inked like crazy,
highlighted with waxes and voila... done!

Hope you all enjoy your goals for 2019!

More Than Words - August challenge

Hi everyone! Over at More Than Words this month, the word challenge this month is YESTERDAY and the challenge is VINTAGE.

This month I have decided to use the word YESTERDAY to mean that I go back to my basic scrapping from "yesterdays" gone by and create a vintage feel layout. It was fun to give a break to my art journaling and to rediscover some of my vintage papers I have hoarded away!

This is a fairly simple piece, but I really didn't want to add a bunch of stuff to this very favourite photo I have! Thanks for taking a peek!

ESCAPE

Happy Sunday everyone!  It is suppose to snow again today in southern Ontario,
so I decided to spend the day playing!

I made this art journal spread for a challenge at More Than Words challenge blog!
Most of the entries are layouts, but I wanted to use this amazing mood board
for an art journal spread!

Here is what i created...
things that make me happy when I want to escape to my happy place!

I love the colors in this mood board.. and this is how I am feeling today!

Thanks for the great challenge and thanks for taking a peek!
