Pink October

Hello all my friends!

This month is Pink October over at ARTastic challenge, and this month we are to honour those who have been affected by breast cancer...... either directly or indirectly.

To do justice to this challenge, I have made a mini album about "Classy Ladies". On the ARTastic challenge blog this month, we also have a great tutorial on Beyond the Page mini album by Kat Gray

I have always loved doing mini's and thought what better way to do this challenge, than to do a mini about ladies! All in pinks and blacks, with a splash of color here and there!

Take a peek at the pages....

I hope you have enjoyed this mini.. it was fun to do and meant so much to me!

I have also decided that one of you who leave a comment will be the recipient of this mini!

Just leave a comment, and I will put your name in for a draw for this on November 1st!

Thanks for taking a peek and have a fantastic October!

Soul Sisters

Hi all! I have been busy creating some art journal pages and a canvas these past few days!
Lots of ink, gel medium, and gesso! And mess! I was so happy!!

I created this 12 x 12 canvas using lots of old papers I had, lots of modeling paste, lots of flowers, metal bits and a few chipboard pieces and gems! And of course.. lots and lots of different ink sprays.

I usually don't do this color scheme, but it actually turned out better than I hoped!

I also am using this piece for a couple challenge blogs I follow...

The first one is over at ARTastic. We had to use this piece from John Miels for our inspiration, as well as typography somehow.

I took inspiration from the colors used in this piece for my canvas. Typography are the words on my base paper as well as these alphabet chippies I have had for forever.

The next challenge I used was from Mixed Media Mojo where we were challenge to recycle and use metal. I recycled the flower sprig at the far right.. it was on a piece I tore apart ages ago but could never find the right project to use it on. I also used a ton of metal embellishments on this too.

The last challenge is for Mixed Media Monthly Challenge where we were challenge to use dimension on our projects, which I think I achieved!

Thanks for taking a peek at my project!
