A Vintage Journey - February challenge

At A Vintage Journey this month the gals have an amazing challenge...

Welcome to a our new challenge for February 2016. Our challenge this month is :

INDUSTRIAL

"Use your foil tape, metallic card stock along with your Texture Fades/Embossing Folders to create an industrial creation all your own.

Whether it's a background or bloom or metal embellishments; don't limit your paint colour to black..... industrial can look great in all colours!

The Creative Guides have created a wide array of industrial projects to inspire you on your journey.

You really need to check out this Tim inspired blog! Some amazing talent there for sure!

I did another art journal type page for my Tim Holtz art journal!

As today is Valentine's Day, I made this to honour my dear husband!

I first used TH tissue, and painted over it with black soot and peacock feathers distress paint. I used some foil tape and ran it through my bigshot using TH honeycomb embossing folder. I then found a piece of silver plain cardstock and ran that through my bigshot using a new die set I got, TH thinlits. added some molding paste using TH stencils, added a photo from TH found relatives cards, added a couple tickets, a couple little words, edged the page in black soot distress paint.. and voila! Done!

Oh.. and a little side note.... I was one of January's pinworthies too!
Thanks everyone for the wonderful comments!  Check it out here.

Have a fantastic Valentines Day!

Our Creative Corner - Sew and Sew

Over at Our Creative Corner, they have an awesome challenge this month ...

Sew and Sew
Fabrics, wool, threads, lace - this months challenge is all about texture, layers and loveliness!

What scraps have you got hidden away? Any snippets of favourite clothes you can't bare to part with?

Anything sewing related can be used in your piece. You could use hand stitching or get out the sewing machine and don't worry if you are not a fan of sewing - why not try drawing in some fake stitches?

Don't forget to get out your sewing themed stamps and dies.
Have fun and create something!

So... I dusted off the old machine and made a little card!

I first put down a layer of tissue paper, painted over it, added splatters...
then I sewed some lace and canvas down, machine stitched around the edges, added a photo and a sentiment.. and voila! The extent of my sewing!!

Thanks for taking a peek!

Mixed Media Monthly Challenge #21

It's Superbowl Sunday, and I thought I would play for a bit before the big game starts!

I decided to work on an altered computer board for a challenge at Mixed Media Monthly Challenge.

For those who know me, I am not much a of a glittery type of gal.. but I incorporated lots of glitter and sparkle into this altered computer board!

(I know.. I now have a little set of them.. and I love them!)

As well as lots of gesso, ink sprays, and bits and pieces! Here are a few pics for you!

Thanks for the great challenge gals.. and thanks to you for taking a peek!
